Marine Equipment Bearings
Marine equipment can be exposed to moisture, vibration, variable loads and extended service intervals. Bearing selection should account for the complete bearing designation, shaft and housing fits, lubrication, sealing arrangement and the equipment manufacturer’s maintenance requirements.
Bearings for Pumps, Gearboxes and Deck Equipment
Tapered roller bearings are reviewed for arrangements carrying combined radial and axial loads. Spherical roller bearings can be evaluated for high radial load and alignment conditions. Deep groove ball bearings are relevant for compact rotating equipment such as auxiliary motors and pumps.
